One of these days the Boeing 747 will be rendered to air museums instead of the sky. It is so nice to see this angle of the Lufthansa as the photographer nailed it nicely. We are still fortunate here to have this airline send it daily to PHL. It passes about 3 miles south of here every day. It was
D-ABVW as it was upwind of the airport and now posted. Bad sun angle but that's Ok. The thrill to be so close on the fly by is enough. Again nice shot King!

warmwynds: You're so right! I know a lot of guys who fly them for Atlas. Well loved for sure, but is an adjustment going from BJ-400's right into 747-400's!! BTW, 452TM heading for PHL now! ETA 1400L!

Nice pic, King! And you're right, warmwynds. In fact, Pima Air and Space Museum already has a 747. They received it last year, but it isn't on display, yet. But I did see it yesterday while I was there. (It's hard to hide a 747.) I'll post a pic as soon as I get a chance. It is a Boeing 747-121, built in 1970, and it apparently was the GE Propulsion Test Platform, N747GE. Take care!

I believe the GE 747 was one of the first off the assembly line, for PAN AM maybe. Didn't know Pima had that one! Time to plan a trip back out there! Thanks Greg!

What a great shot! I love the rear angled perspective and the foreboding gray sky!
