That Tweet is from Columbus AFB... when was this photo taken?

Cliff731, from what I remember, they were taken mid 90's. They were always stopping in every since I was a little boy. I miss them. They are a wonderful aircraft! And Roy, not sure where "tweety bird" came from. I just always remember my dad saying there are 4 or 5 Tweety Birds at Regional and we would go out and watch. We had quite a few stationed at Barksdale also.

Thanks, ppick... that's in the timeframe I would have guessed.

Roy... The "Tweety Bird" and "Tweet" monikers came from its characteristic very high pitched sound of the aircraft's jet engine intakes. Some might describe it as like a "whistle" or "shriek". I've never needed to look out of a window or go outside to know when a Tweet was passing overhead.

ppick... I miss seeing and hearing them fly too. Thanks for sharing this one with us!

Thanks Cliff!

Roy, you are welcome and the Tweets had an unmistakable sound signature.
