For those of us who don't know this aircraft or where it is located some information would be useful.

Mark Harris - the aircraft is identified by Christoph Plank correctly as a Junkers Ju-52. Christoph has given the location as LOWI, which is Kranebitten Airport, at or near Innsbruck, Tyrol, in Austria.

Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, is well known as the location of the Winter Olympic Games in 1964 and again in 1976.

The Falken markings and the falcon head logo on this aircraft are for a brand of beer of the same name. That inscription in the green banding above the cabin windows, "Viel Zeit für ein gutes Bier", should translate to English as "There is always time for a good beer"... or something close to that!

This Ju-52 was manufactured by "Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke AG" of Dessau, Germany, in 1939, as c/n 6610. It is powered by three (3) BMW 132A-3 radial engines. The aircraft is rated to carry a maximum of 18 passengers with a minimum flight crew of 2.

HB-HOP is a current Swiss civil aircraft registration as assigned by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation on 14 October 1982.

Hope that helps!!!

The sign on the side says, "Plenty of time for a good beer."

Enjoyed the background info from Cliff731! I think I am going to have a 'Bier' now.
