Eurocopter AS-350 AStar (N903CF) - My previous post of this Eurocopter AS-350 Ecureuil (Care Flights N903CF) was certainly not the best because (as I remarked at the time I posted it) the shot was taken in less-than-"prime" photo conditions. Even without being edited (well, OK, it HAS been cropped and size-reduced); this is a far, far better snap of it.

For the longest time after my previous capture of it, I could not catch it in the air again. But within the past four weeks, I've suddenly spotted it airborne everywhere: it has been at Truckee, Carson City, Fallon, and (of course) in various Reno neighborhoods. It has gone from famine to feast. lol

Excellent shot Gary! I've noticed lately that aviation seems to be a bit "streaky" as you mentioned about this. I have been spotting for over 5 years and flying for about the same amount of time and I have never heard on the radios or seen an emergency in all that time. Well, within about a one week time frame, (about a month ago) I saw two emergency landings (both turned out OK, thankfully) and on top of that I also had to abort a t/o in that same time period bc of a failure (luckily we realized the failure before lifting off because we were about to takeoff into IFR conditions). Funny how these things work, just like you never seeing this helo much and then all of a sudden you see it multiple times :)

Mark, Thanx for the compli(ment), and naturally I'm relieved to hear that you were able to successfully reject in time and without incident. Also, I'll be emailing an a/c pic to you and several others either tomorrow PM or on Friday. :)

Gary- just my opinion, but helicopters make for better pictures than airliners. I love to take pictures of them but can't seem to catch enough of them! Thanks for sharing! 5*
