de Havilland Dash 8-400 (N421QX) - * Congrats to all Horizon personnel. Your retro livery is awesome! *br /br /Even though there were broken clouds partially obscuring the sun that was still quite low in the east, QXE's brand new, fresh from the paint barn, Horizon Air retro livery schemebird is glowing as it is about to touch down on 16R after a morning trip from Seattle. The QXE retro schemebird had only left Victorville with its new clothes and resumed revenue service just four days prior to making its first visit to Reno (seen here) yesterday morning. It returned for a second time, and made a RON stay, late last night.

Reminds me a lot of Golden Gate Airlines livery from the early 1980's on their Dash-7's. Great pic Gary! High quality as always! Cheers!!

Great catch Gary! I have a Goddaughter co-piloting these Horizon Dash 8's ..... I wonder if she was aboard?

Gary S.........you always have an excellent vantage point for all your shots . This is another example of a great shot , of a wonderful aircraft , proudly built in Toronto , my home town .

Wonderful shot, Gary! I live near Pasco airport (KPSC) and growing up as a kid my eyes were always skyward, seeing the old Fairchild F-27's with this livery on it. My first ever flight as a kid was on one of those birds, and I thought it was the most amazing thing. It's so cool to see this retro livery come to life again! :D

When you say "Congrats to all Horizon personnel" — did they lobby for this livery somehow? Is there more of a story there? Or are you just congratulating them generally because this looks so good? ;)

Leland ... There was a female voice in the front office. I heard it over the scanner. Peter T ... That is a very kind comment. I am very grateful for your comments and complis. And as an FYI, I've been to Toronto (born and raised just over the Peace Bridge in Buffalo / Tonawanda / N. Falls). Yours is one of the finest cities I've ever been in (and I've been in many, many places). You have every right and plenty of good reasons to be proud of your hometown. Fireboy ... I was only congratulating them because they now have an a/c dressed in Horizon's original clothes. I'm not aware of any type of employee effort to get this livery. Perhaps IFlyGr8 knows. I wish I had lived closer to any airport when I was a kid. It was 16 miles one way on my bike to get to KBUF so I could not go as often as I wanted to. Your memories of Pasco are wonderful (and if you have any old photos, I'd greatly appreciate seeing them). (Wave)
