Check your aircraft charts particularly "Density Altitude" Last day of June in Florida 94°F
I'm fairly sure under those conditions with 3 persons on board the aircraft was probably near or OVER the gross weight allowed under those temperature conditions and was probably at or very near stall speed during this approach then allowing the speed to drop below stall speed during the attempted go-around.

Nearest METAR station I found was Travis AFB, Calif 13 miles off. 11:58 RH 28 DP 57. Visibility 2.5 with haze, but was 7 - 10 before and after that time.
