Delta is rolling out RFID luggage tags by the end of summer

In an honorable attempt to make air travel slightly less terrible, Delta announced a new program this week that will track of checked baggage via paper RFID tags. The program will replace the familiar barcode stickers that currently get slapped on checked baggage, and RFID readers at various points along a bag's journey will read the tag's radio signals to insure each piece of luggage is on headed to the right place.
