Pole To Pole Circumnavigation World Speed Record Is Underway

Submitted

Bill Harrelson has already circled the South Pole in his purpose built Lancair IV and is now en route to Alaska via Hawaii. His journey so far on this attempt has already included a staggering 25-hour flight from South America to the French Polynesian. Bill is also the current record-holder for distance flown during a flight, having flown from Guam to Jacksonville, Florida, at a distance of 7,051 nm, in 38 hours, 29 minutes in 2013. I thought the flight by Dick Rutan flying over 26,000 miles non-stop around the world would count as a distance record.
