With a gun that won't even be online until about 2020, if then, and only has 600 rounds to boot, how in God's name will the replace a true CAS mission. They have undoubtedly redefined the meaning of CLOSE.
When the conclusions of the study are already written, my only wonder is why it took one week.
Note too, they are now going for a twofer...keep Congressional critics at bay by promising a "replacement" for CAS and getting new toys as well instead of sticking with the "paid for" A-10 which is durable, able to stay on the battle scene and able to carry lots of scary ordinance that can actually be fired...unlike their shiny toy, the F-35.
Give the A-10 to the Army and Marines with that portion of the Air Force budget. I want to be listening when they try to tell Senator Tom Cotton on the Armed Services Committee that he is uninformed. He is not taking prisoners these days.

And he won't either. Young and brash, at least young compared to us, but not short in the Gonads dept. He took down a long term democrat out here. As a former ranger, he has a good grasp of things over there the way they are and not as some folks wish they would be. This and $1 will buy me a cup of coffee, but him and my daughter were in same HS class and I know his Mama and Daddy. He was raised about 15 miles up the road and they have some land just a couple miles away.
What does a ground pounding ranger know about air force god's priorities. Between keeping a revenue stream for the F-35 to shepherding defense procurement contracts for the boys who will be hiring them as 'consultants' the day after they retire, they have no time for supporting other branches that are sucking away funds that should go to the air force.
BTW, any progress on that new font yet?

Not hat I know of but you sure need it here. LOL
LOL...in spite of having a branchless Arkansas family tree, he stuck it to the Administrators on the Iraq sellout and then dumped all over the media that were trying to bring him down.
The hearing will be a riot...the majority side is loaded with ex and current serving members to include McCain, Cotton,

...sorry. Earnst and Graham plus Kelly Ayotte whose husband was an A-10 jockey. The Air Force guys better show up wearing Depends.
Well, he knows the feeling on the A10 from everyone around here. The USAF drew the ire last year when they pulled the away from the 188th at FSM last year. We had A10 drivers scattered all up and down the valley and they spent their time on deployment, a couple actually, and all came back. We now have fewer people and drones. Almost 2 years ago, I did an Angel Flight to Dover and back. 5 of the hogs picked us up over North Arkansas coming in. Per the tower, they came over the top of us in missing man. You talk about heebie jeebies up and down your back.
I remember when you did it...some things in lives of old farts like us are burned into memory and are as fresh as if they happened yesterday. On the other hand, I can't remember what I had for breakfast and did I take my meds.
