Runway Closure at JFK could create a summer traffic jam in the skies over New York City

The main arrivals runway at Kennedy will be closed for repairs and resurfacing for about five months starting at the end of April, just as the summer travel season gets underway, and will likely remain closed through most of hurricane season. (7online.com) More...

What a terribly written article. Last time I checked RWY 31R was also 13L!!!

Also for the theory on minimal impact on delays. Tell that to passengers traveling tonight. JFK was a one runway operation for most of tonight. Land and Depart RWY 31L was the only option account of WX (Winds).
