Smart move to make a design 18 ft longer and give up a little range for more seats and cargo. Singapore is poised to go toe to toe with the Gulf carriers for passengers. Comfy new planes can make that happen on competitive Asian routes.

These policies of doing those stretched versions are NEVER good for the passengers, only for the venable airlines! The airplanes have much worst performances (fly much lower among other things) and people in Economy are sent to the much jumpier backs... Look at the horrendous example of the B-777/300! Also all the Pilots I talked to also said "not so nice"...
