Good observation. Maybe they didn't want to risk higher cabin pressurization or supplemental oxygen on this first flight, just in case the repair was not adequate.

That flight number is used for mx flights every day, so likely not the same plane continuing on to GSO.

SWA8700 is just a generic flight number that they assign to any aircraft that they need to reposition, so that is not necessarily the same plane.

You know, a little change in subject but it is just amazing to me what KGSO has done to rebirth itself over the last 15 -16 years or so. I remember it being the Piedmont hub before US Air killed that flag and moved to Charlotte, but then seeing the Likes of TIMCO, the ten year battle for FEDEX and all the other stuff. It has gone from overbuilt, underused, sleepy little airport to a busy center again, but it's still a lot better than KCLT to get in and out of and given a choice, I'll take it any day of the week.

its also a great airport to train out of. im working on my private there and the new runway is very smooth as can be on take off
