This is a NORTH Korean aircraft arriving in Pyongyang.
The Russians certainly have a thing about putting robust undercarriages on all their aircraft when you compare this to the single paired wheel set on a B-727, an aircraft of similar size, form and function.
Alan, no b727 should be comparable with yak-42. they are very similar.
tu-154 is rather different. b727-100 was significantly smaller. only 727-200 adv, got closer to tu154, but still smaller.
