Raytheon Starship (N723SC)
Comments
I got to fly one once. Made (not to brag) and incredibly smooth landing.
Great photo. Had a Starship for a corporate aircraft for several years and flew on it regularly. What a plane! Quiet, comfortable, and a real head-turner every time we landed. It is so nice to continue to see this rare aircraft fly. There are only 5 us registered still in service. Great looking plane.
Nice picture! Burt Rutan is an amazing man!!
Beautiful! Just too early for its time. "Composites? what's dis stuff... "
Saw/barely heard one of these landing on the way home from work at Air Force 42 (Palmdale CA) in late 90's but never again. (was not quite off the end of runway 25 on 40th st East. amazed how quiet it was.
Is the one at the Wichita museum at the north end of McConnell (spel?) AFB still there? saw it in 2006.

I am proud to say that I am one of a few people who actually received a type rating in the Starship. Great airplane - last time I few it was in 1986.
Back in the mid 1980s Burt Rutan gave me a personal tour through the Starship prototype in his hangar. Being the prototype for test flying it was slightly smaller, something like 5/8 scale. Only a few feet away was the Voyager undergoing construction.
This Firestone ad is nothing less than obnoxious.
