Thanks for the message and the up-vote!

I don't get on here often. I've been a member for about two years but only uploaded my first images last night.

What is "VIEWFLU"?

Looked at your work... I can see you're interested in VERTOL airframes. My uncle was an aerospace and mechanical engineer working for the FAA in Long Beach for 45 yrs. I can remember him telling my father, a mechanical engineer in power production, over Thanksgiving dinner at our house, that they were looking at VERTOL aircraft. They argued about my father's position that it was far too complex a mechanism to be sufficiently reliable in flight. Wasn't his area of expertise, so I'm not surprised.

Thirty years ago, I was living in Amarillo where Textron was testing the Osprey for the Marines and they had (I think) three crashes. It was weird telling my father (who died just 8 yrs ago) that what his brother-in-law had told him was on the verge of becoming reality. My dad's response was that three crashes were "not a good flight history."

Thanks for the contact!

David, the ICAO aircraft type designator code for the Boeing EA-18 Growler is F18S. If you change the code that you entered, your photo will be correctly identified and indexed in the FA photo database.
