Outstanding, Uwe! I just saw (and snapped) my very first 748 while I was at LAX. I posted a pic of it (Cathay Pacific) a couple of days ago. I will always love the Queen of the Skies. Congrats on all these newest photos. As always, 5 stars, my friend.

Uwe is certainly correct, there are LOTS of 747s (and everything else) going in and out of EDDF. (And I'm sure there are many more now than the last time I was there.) But remember, Frankfurt is just a little tiny bit larger than Reno. ;-) I used to love getting up on the observation deck to watch incoming flights on (what is now) 25C. And the 747s were always the best. First of all, I don't know why it is but the bigger the plane the slower it seems to be moving. Like the C-5s I watched from our apartment near Ramstein AFB. They're huge but it seems like they are just floating along. And then, when the 747s are on final with all the flaps down if you are looking at it from the front, it looks like the wings end at the outboard engines. No flaps out there and with the attitude of the aircraft it makes the outboard portion of each wing almost invisible. Oh, and they were usually coming in out of an overcast sky which further enhances the illusion. Anyway, I love to watch those big birds come and go! Remind me sometime and I'll tell you about the time I saw a C-5 doing touch-and-goes at Dover AFB in a serious cross-wind. Impressive! Thanks, Uwe and Gary!
