Are those the new Rolls-Royce F130 engines?
I've never seen tip tank art before. We weren't allowed anything like that in the Cold War era, though it was suggested.
Colin, no not quite. Those are still the Pratt & Whitney TF33 engines (military derivative of the P&W JT3D turbofans). The F130 will look similar, but noticeably fatter in profile.
Still a great looking plane. Used to see a lineup of them parked at Plattsburgh AFB in New York State. Base is a private airport now, B-52's long gone.
