According to Joe Baugher's information, this EADS American Eurocopter U.S. Army UH-72A Lakota was built as Army s/n 11-72200.

Joe further adds, "American Eurocopter Corporation Model MBB-BK 117 C-2, designated UH-72A Lakota", along with, "Assigned to US Army National Guard – California; A Company, 3rd Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment".

American Eurocopter's manufacturing facility is near Columbus, MS, located at the Golden Triangle Airport, KGTR.

Hi Tom... You're welcome and thanks for sharing this photo with us!

I find the color choice on those panels and numbers to be a bit odd, unless it's for "hi-viz" intent. This is the first ARNG helicopter I've seen done in this manner.

Thanks Cliff..this was during fire season here around Redding, CA - all of the Helicopters get the hi-viz paint...check the other pictures on KRDD(search airport & KRDD) and you'll see the Chinooks and Firehawks I've seen.

Hi again, Tom... from the "Better late than never" department... I just caught your response when viewing this photo once more. Of course, I trotted over and found those Chinooks and the Firehawk helicopter. The bright fluorescent markings on these otherwise drab colored aircraft does make sense in an active hazy and smoke filled fire fighting aerial environment.
