KAMOV Ka-32 (C-FIGR) - KRDD 6/16/16, I should have called in sick to work, but this rare sighting of a KA-32 at Redding - I would have loved to have gotten video of this Russian built helicopter - FA shows it transitioned KEUG - and on to Victoria BC today. Ive never seen a helicopter like this. Click full.

PREMIER Q pic, Alien!! This is a super special find and 5 * capture! Congrats on this catch. And many Thanks for sharing it. I've never seen one, either, and I greatly appreciate the glimpse. (Both Thumbs Up, T.)

Thanks Gman! very kind - those double rotors and jet engines would be neat to hear. I did a small search here and this whirlybird shows having been here a couple times in the past - so I'll see if I can snag some info on the next visit - when ever that is and be ready for the video.

Great picture Tom. The KA-27 looks similar to Charlie Kaman's HH-43 , also a turbine driven twin rotor of the same utilitarian blocky shape. The Huskie however had two rotor blades per shaft and was smaller. From the appearance of the tires, it looks like the KA-27 is carrying a full load. I would also love to see and hear a video of this aircraft. The HH-43 was reasonably quiet.
beautiful photo , i´ve never seen , super

Thank you David and Mathias - Redding is not a very busy airport for odd aircraft - this was cool to see. David, I didn't notice the tires but good catch. I wonder what they had onboard. I'll definitely be watching for this whirlybird in the future.
