Boeing 707-100 (N7937) - Holy Moly Gary, you reminded me of an old TWA Boeing 707 photo in the album and recall it was taken through the window of an Alitalia on the tarmac at Rome's Fiumicino Int'l Airport in the Spring of 1973 with the ever-popular Kodak Instamatic camera. The registration number may not be accurate and quite blurred is the text "Star Stream 707" in front of the tail. I see there are a pair of votes at this point. This like many photos posted was not put up for voting. It clearly is a poor quality photo considering the circumstances. Try applying your votes to something reasonable.

Flew in it to Rome, via Madrid.... 1974. Not great service...

We know the old pics usually are not of the highest quality, but we like to see them because they are uncommon, and to see the old birds that are no longer flying.

Hey, Rich, this is a fine click. A great memory jolt back to the early days of the paxjet age. That TWA livery with the twin golden globes was always one of my faves. Re: the votes. The first vote that appears is (quite often) "awarded" by the FA monitor in the first moments after a pic is posted (in that 4 - 10 minute time frame between when it is posted until it finally appears in the gallery). Oldies pics usually get low votes from the monitor unless they are scans from magazines or web / blog sites because those "borrowed" pics usually look better and the monitor seems to prefer scanned reposts. But please keep sharing. Viewers like Karl, Cliff, Alien (Tom Vance), Greg, Dave S., Chris R., myself, and many, many others really enjoy the privilege of seeing these old pics.

GARY:

Thanks for the comment and information on these older commercial aircraft. It seems I have a number of "Post Cards" of commercial aircraft that I purchased while I was in the service in the early seventies from all over and they been rotting in an album too. Time to get them out and into the WWW so unless there is some objection I will be scanning them and posting them over the next week starting with one today. Also thanks to JOAO and Karl on their comments.
