Airbus A330-200 (N819CA)
A fairly rare sight here at RNO is the arrival of a larger Airbus, but about every other month or so we get the pleasure of seeing something other than little A319s, A320s, and (of course) Boeing's 737s. Here, National's N819CA, an A332, is flaring out to put the mains down on the 17L concrete as it arrives from Cherry Point (KNKT), N. Carolina, about 12 minutes before straight up high noon to drop off a full planeload of United States Marines.
This was the first of two roundtrip runs (KNKT-KRNO-KNKT-KRNO) that N819CA made over a two day time span to drop off Marines. It was a treat to have several opportunities to get snaps of an A332 and I made full use of the opportunities; catching it arriving here the first time it came from Cherry Point and getting more captures the next day as it departed enroute to Yuma International (KNYL).
