I don't understand why the name of the airplane wasn't included. It is a late 1930's to early 40's Beech model 17 Staggerwing.

N registry says 1941 Beech D17S. Gorgeous. A/W date is 07/01/1957.

Red Adair backpacked one of these from a crash site at Monache Meadows in the Eastern Sierra.
He completely restored it, and I worked on the Bendix Avionics and electrical, at the Bishop Airport around 1974.

What a thrill and an incredible aircraft to fly, I will never forget!
