I was privileged to get a view like this, of a line fully armed F4s at Soesterberg AB in 1971, from the drivers seat of my VW Bug. The ball fields were located where you crossed a taxiway with a sign,"Yield to all oncoming aircraft". With all those weapons, no problem. Loved the F-4.
"Hold Here" signs for cars. Stop light, controlled by tower, for crossing active runway
Gonna be an expensive upgrade.

Hi David- amazing story! Wish I could see USAF Spooks fully loaded. Had to travel half way around to world to get this view. Absolutely worth it!

Hi Charles- absolutely, sadly it also means that the 302nd squadron will leave Hyakuri Air Base permanently as the F-35s will be based at joint US bases in Japan due to their tighter security
