Awesome plane.

Yes, it is an awesome plane. Flew back from Honduras to Charleston AFB, SC at the end of my 180 TDY at Soto Cano AB. I was the NCOIC of the Air Traffic Control radar shop while I was there. Maintaining the last AN/MPN-14H Mobile RAPCON in the Air Force. It was on the airfield so we had a marker where the C-5 wingtip would go by when taxing so that nobody would park past the marker.

They're making those Cessna Skyhawks bigger each year. I thought this was a C5A Galaxy!

Looks like the C-172's I used to fly before I moved "Up".

Cessna Skyhawk on steriods! Maybe even an overdose level of steriods.

The Skyhawk is inside! On a serious note during Desert Storm I took one of these out of Bahrain to Spain. Load Master asked me if I wanted to go up to the cockpit, of course I did! I climbed up there and the only one in the cockpit was the pilot wearing a polo and a pair of blue jeans. I sat in the co-pilots seat for a few hours. It was awesome.

A Cessna Skyhawk? There could be a whole flight school's worth of Cessnas in there! When I was stationed at Aviano AB, Italy I was assigned static aircraft display "guard" duty during the open house/airshow and I and another ATCer were assigned the C-5. We were to stand behind the ropes and make sure nobody crossed them. Would have rather been able to walk around and enjoy the show but it turned out to be a great experience. The captain of C-5 said we could explore inside but one of us had to be outside at all times. I couldn't believe just how big it really was! He was pretty cool about it. He said that the flight back stateside would be his last, I assumed because he would be separating from the Air Force.

When I made my first solo in a C-172 years ago, it felt that BIG !!!
