British Airways began new service on Monday between London Heathrow and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas.  The route is the first regular transatlantic service to operate from the Texan city.

The service will initially be available five days a week, with daily flights beginning in May.

British Airways will use Boeing 787 Dreamliners equipped with 214 seats to fly between the two cities.  The aircraft are outfitted with 35 lie-flat seats in business class (Club World), 25 seats in premium economy (World Traveller Plus), and 154 in economy (World Traveller).  Seats in business class have a pitch of 72” and a width of 20”.

Austin is British Airways’ third destination in Texas, after Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth.
