Talk about the bl******ly obvious, I just wonder why it took so long for eurocent to drop! The 757 did a great job and Boeing chose to create an entirely new product. Airbus has done similar work with A350 but the B757 has a specific market and an improved long haul A320 model could actually work well.

I am thinking of many major holiday charter airlines and perhaps a brave low-cost operator stretching the business model into low level long haul? If the current B737-9 can traverse the North Atlantic, why not a super A320 series model for the Ryanair/Norwegian types?

If Airbus do intend to go ahead with their A321LLR-Neo as a kind of replacement for a Boeing product, namely the venerable 757,then they have a major job on their hands.Good luck guys!
