A UTAir Boeing 737-800, registration VQ-BQQ performing flight UT-295 from Moscow Vnukovo to Surgut (Russia), was in the initial climb out of Vnukovo's runway 24 when the crew needed to shut the left hand engine (CFM56) down. The aircraft levelled off at about 9000 feet and returned to Vnukovo for a safe landing on runway 24 about 20 minutes after departure.
