not a fan of this end run around pilot/passenger safety for the sake of spending less. These promises of better everything from reducing manpower at the tower i believe to be foolish, shortsighted, and dumb, dumb.

there is no pie in the sky FAA new idea for reducing expenses that can overcome the occasinal dumb pilot flying with his head up his ass..A competent controller is the best answer to that danger....

Who's going to monitor the video monitors???

If the system is made like in Sweden, then there are controllers sitting in a room with monitors all around showing what the cameras sees, but they are in another city, with the ability to monitor several airports with less traffic on the same workshift.

I guess in time controllers will be able to work from home.

I doubt that, they need redundancy so that the system has several ways to stay connected and real backup electric systems
