Kind of surprised by this, kind of not.

While outside of being uncomfortable, I don't understand the fuss about masks, I can't imagine it being an issue to the point of assaulting another person over it.

When we think about the cost of the plane ticket, the time being spent, and the need to get to a destination that made it all worth it, raising a fuss to a ground level employee just doesn't make sense. Furthermore, you factor in jail time, and the cost surrounding that, court, and possibly losing your job because of all of this, the choices people are making are simply unfathomable to me.

Rage is often not started out of reason, but by something called a primal fear reaction. This was helpful in the stone age, but in modern times, these involuntary responses still occur when people feel trapped. A mask can add to that feeling of being cornered, airports are highly stress inducing environments for many people. It’s not so easy to judge a situation from the sideline.
