What a load of rubbish! If we knew what was intended we would all read it the same way. However, we don’t always know what was intended so could quite easily in a number of situations read it differently to other people. I certainly would not feel confident in flying in a plane you had worked on if you read the service manual “as it was intended” rather than what it actually said.

I remember a friend flew to California from South Carolina back in the 70s. I'll never forget the ticket was $600. Adjusted for inflation that ticket would be about $1800 today and no he wasn't flying first class. Actually, I wouldn't mind a smaller industry but with millions flying today would couldn't fly fifty years ago I guess it's a net positive. The first class customers of old are on private jets today so they get to avoid the cattle car experience.

I remember those day... Working on the Old 737-200's and the Japanese YS-11 Turbo Prop back in the day with Piedmont Airlines! Those days of flying when a Suit was required for Non-Rev travel! Times have certainly changed, and In My Humble Opinion, I believe it has changed for the Worst.... MUCH WORSE!

It's truly a shame Flight Aware, once a highly respected professional site where sound, solid thinking happened, has degenerated to the point where so many posters use it to spew their uninformed and misguided opinions that actually have nothing whatever to do with aerospace. Did you read the article? While I do agree this type of behavior is obviously not acceptable, it said his sister had just been killed and he was trying to get back home. Grief and the pain of loss sometimes makes controlling emotions difficult. I know you have no sympathy for other people, and just like that, Lock Them Up! But maybe, just maybe think about the circumstances that made him react the way he did. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t need to be held accountable, but jail? Please let me know when I brought politics into a discussion. Not my responding to it. Further, when I see disinformation and the blatant bullshit that is posted, I call it out. I know people can see that as me being an asshole, and they would be right. I recognize that I should do a better job getting my point across. On a final note; this is a discussion forum. Politics today play a major role in aviation, especially policy making, so disagreement’s end up because of political views. What today isn’t somehow influenced by the political divide? These issues are not just problems of the USA. Political divide across the globe is everywhere and impacts everyone, so no, I don’t think it is possible to keep it out.

I would like nothing more than to not discuss politics, on here or anywhere for that matter. I leaned much further to the right, prior to the Trump era, and I still do in some areas. Sparkie, if we met in a bar and got to chatting outside of politics, i’m sure we could have great conversations about aviation. You worked for Piedmont, hell, you may have worked alongside my family. We probably have more in common than we think. I hate the division in America. We are certainly better than this, but like I said before, there is a blind following and no matter how many indisputable facts one could present, it falls upon deaf ears. How does that lead America forward to a better future? While Washington has had corruption and scandals for as long as it has been around, there has never not been a peaceful transfer of power until Trump, and to think that won’t happen again, you’d be fooling yourself. There is a good reason why they were not convicted. That is simple. Where what they were doing was not necessarily legal, but by the same point it was not an "Insurrection"!

1.) The act or an instance of open revolt against civil authority or a constituted government.

2.) A rising against civil or political authority, or the established government; open and active opposition to the execution of law in a city or state.

3.) A rising in mass to oppose an enemy.

There was no open revolt, there was No rising against civil or political authority

When thousands of illegals unleashed into rural America, this is what happens!. Pray Springfield residents have plenty of ammo, they're gonna need it! All of the Democrat mayor's are bought off and the bus loads of illegals show up in the middle of the night. Within hours, the tight city budgets are gone and the illegals start taking over.
