When discussing Spirit, the phrase "axing service" could mean something other than fewer routes, although I suppose it would be hard to cut nearly-non-existent customer service by much.

The article tells us that Spirit is flying about 18% fewer flights compared to prior years quarter. And that 23 Airbus neos are parked due to P-W GTF engine issues.
