A General Aviation Safety Mirage?

The marked improvement in the light general aviation safety figures for 2013 is the cause of some controversy, and I get that. For years we doubted that the FAA was accounting accurately for all of the hours that we GA pilots were flying, making the accident rate seem artificially high. To my knowledge, we never claimed that GA flying didn't have its risks or that the safety stats were way off base, just off base. (www.flyingmag.com) More...
