Since when does Uncle Sam give a rats about red ink, red tape, or being competitive. FedEx literally could triple rates and no one would bat an eye at the USPS.

Since the Postal Service is mandated to be completely self-funded, Uncle Sam's red tape doesn't really come into picture.
