United Airlines brings in comfort dogs to make holiday travel less terrible

Submitted

On Monday, the airline kicked off three days of dog-hugging festivities. Crews from the United Paws program will greet customers in seven airports — Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark and Washington/Dulles — with comfort dogs available for cuddling and petting. Pardon my satire, but I'd suggest to UAL (as well as others) people would be less stressed out if:

(1) flights arrive on time.
(2) bags don't get lost.
(3) an occasional drink gets served on the house.

Therapy dogs might be request #20 on the list.

Oh lovely! Comfort Dogs! So what about the person that has to sit next to one of those dogs on a 4 hour flight? What if they are allergic to dogs? What if the dog is mean or aggressive?

The dogs are for cuddling and petting in the terminal areas and are not on the plane.

Also Comfort dogs are trained and certified so no need to worry about 'mean and aggressive'

Oh thats true. But people do bring their own comfort dogs on the airplanes.

Would probably be better than sitting next to some passengers as some of there aggressive actions would be worse than a rabid dog. You could qualify after your comment I think.
