Any surprise???...American and United are about the worse carriers in America and the world!!!!

..why is that a big surprise?...it’s simple economics…those low cost flying busses only earn money when transporting their victims, sorry, passengers….a bird standing on the ground only cots money…

So very true

Spirit may be on time more than others partly because the passengers want to spend as little time crunched into their airplanes as possible...not to mention trying to get away from that horrible yellow livery!

I avoid flying them because of the livery! It’s so embarrassing!

I routinely fly Spirit LGA/MYR on time every time..and at only $46.00 one way for an hour and 20 minutes you can't beat that price. Have flown them also EWR/MCO same deal....yes they are no frills and I fly other airlines when I need baggage and a little (emphasis little( to other destinations. Have never had a delay on spirit and never a cancellation. they fly to LGA/EWR where delays and cancellations happen all the time to the legacy carriers. their product is what it is...a cheap quick trip to New York and MYR or Florida....anywhere else fly someone else.

Spirit 10/31/16 MYR/LGA (2pm or so), Cancelled around 10am. A beautiful Monday, no weather-related issues. Reason: not enough tickets sold. Rebooked Delta to Atlanta to LGA. Arrived almost three hours later than original Spirit scheduled arrival.

About two years prior, same thing, last hour cancellation.

So "every time" to/from MYR, you are lucky. Not me. No more Spirit for me.

question....did the arriving flight get cancelled too? Any chance that aircraft was delayed along the route that it flew that day or the day before? Did they state to you that it was cancelled because of low fannies? My flight on Saturday was only half full...the plane went on to Detroit and then to Las Vegas....doubt they cancelled because of low fannies.

We were told the flight was canceled because it did not have enough seats filled. I do not know if the aircraft was at MYR at the time, had to hustle up other flight, through Atlanta.

END.

Nobody would ever tell you that "we are cancelling due to lack of passengers" come on man.

Spirit cancels flights they determine don't have enough fannies in the seats. Unreliable!! Will never buy a ticket from them again.

Its fake news... UAL and AA both fly to destinations that have weather and traffic. They do it all day every day, summer winter and spring with many thousands of flights a day all over the world. Spirit flies to a lot of vacation destinations where the weather rarely affects arrivals and departures to anywhere near the degree it does the big carriers. I don't even know if Spirit is Category III qualified, but if they are not that tells you all you need to know about on-time departures and arrivals versus the big carriers. Say what you want, the big carriers problems are compounded by their size, but they offer choice which is what passengers want. It would be interesting to see Spirit's statistics if they had the logistics of UAL or AA...

so you're telling me spirit only flies to fair weather destinations? like detroit, new york, boston, newark the carribean in all times of year.....sorry i don't buy that one at all. Look they are not my go to...but...if they fly to where i am going and i am not going to change planes...i'm probably going to consider them.....for a two or three hour flight at most
