Better-than-new P-47 Thunderbolt debuts at Oshkosh

Col Gabreski was the Co at Suffolk County AFB on Long Island when I was assigned there. I ended up with Airman of the Month and have a photo of myself and Col Gabreski from that time. Glad I was able to meet him.

Great to see this grand lady back in the air. Here is hoping she will be one of many to educate a younger generation on what it took to preserve freedom so many years ago. Fair winds and blue skies to all who helped get her back in the air!
