We as pilots moan and groan on vectors and holds but this guy was awesome. He worked his butt of for that A320. Sure, he didn't come into play but he did all the pilots could ever want. Next long vector for an ILS I will remember this dude. (www.nytimes.com) More...13 Miles High

Make 10 minutes to see this. And listen. There is no pilot who will not be dazzled. Flying is beautiful An adventure. This captures the beauty and the passion. (www.wimp.com) More...ATC tape and radar of King Air with dead pilot and SEL pilot

This is a terrific tape of ATC bringing down a KingAir with an inexperienced single engine VFR pilot who had to fly a King Air after his pilot died. Long tape but what a terrific job done by all. This happened on April 15, 2009 in Florida, as many remember. (www.liveleak.com) More...Cockpit crisis: In five years, over 50 commercial airplanes crashed in loss-of-control accidents. (take the time and read this EXCELLENT article). With low clouds and a fine mist hanging in the morning air, the pilots of Turkish Airlines Flight 1951 anticipated a routine approach to Amsterdam’s busy Schiphol Airport on Feb. 25, 2009. But instead of touching down gently on the runway, the white and red Boeing 737 dropped out of the sky and slammed into a muddy field just short of the airport, smashing into three pieces. Nine people died, including all three pilots. Another 84 were injured. (www2.macleans.ca) More...The Making of Florida One for SWA - Boeing 737

This is a terrific re-enactment of a 1/2009 crash while on an ILS. Controllers vectored it for a "slam dunk" approach - which would have been fine had the pilots been ready for it. They were not. There is much to be learned from this in terms of how to fly approaches from different intercept points on the localizer. I found it highly valuable. Submitted
Dozens of Continental Airlines flights to the East Coast from Europe have been forced to make unexpected stops in Canada and elsewhere to take on fuel after running into unusually strong headwinds over the Atlantic Ocean. The stops, which have caused delays and inconvenience for thousands of passengers in recent weeks, are partly the result of a decision by United Continental Holdings Inc., the world's largest airline, to use smaller jets on a growing number of long, trans-Atlantic routes.… (online.wsj.com) More...More GA aircraft are being repossessed
