Awesome! Approach and landing at Chagual. Peru
This Canyon approach to the runway WILL make you pucker! (www.facebook.com) More...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
As for me just being a Flight Sim pilot (Not the best at that.) That to me looks like not the easiest place to fly into. You Pros can do that in your sleep. dodger4, seems to kn ow what he is talking about. Hats off to all of you REAL 100% CPL's. You have hard jobs. You never get paid what you are worth. except Delta United etc pilots do. but the rest don't I feel..
Good thing there was no sea wall or he would have hit it much like the boyz from Korea. Aim point was obviously the very end of the runway rather than on or beyond the displaced threshold which was no doubt put there to prevent a low and flat approach like the one made.
You know, all that is well and good but he looks like he really don't care, and like's done this 1000 times before.lol
I think it's there to use if its rated for your plane. He didn't appear to be teetering on a stall either! Wasn't his first rodeo there.
You really couldn't tell any difference between it and the runway as you can on some, and you are correct, it was not his first rodeo. It looked like he was out for a Sunday afternoon drive. LOL
Including the displaced threshold, it's only 4000 feet long at an elevation of 4000'. Additionally it's hot, so I would probably make the same type of approach myself, although I would try to stay on a 3° glide path. Nothing more embarrassing than going off the end of a runway when you left 1500' feet behind you.
