Since August 11, 2003, the Federal Aviation Administration recognizes pilots who have practiced safe flight operations continuously for 50 or more years during the course of their aviation careers. In 1956 Joe had his first flight in a TWA Constellation from Burbank, CA to Las Vegas with his family.
