Plans For TWA Flight Center Hotel and Museum Fall Through

Submitted

The latest plans to use the TWA Flight Center at John F. Kennedy International Airport are off the table. The landmark terminal, also known as the Trans World Flight Center, was designed by Eero Saarinen and opened in 1962. Both the terminal’s interior and exterior have been designated as historic landmarks by New York City and the National Park Service listed it on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005..... The City and Port Authority should acquire/ share this property as a NYC welcome center. A 1964 Worlds Fair 1/24th scale model of NYC could be relocated there from Queens as an added attraction. Rent-able sleep modules with showers available for the 6 hr itinerant traveller. A golden age aviation museum with a restored TWA B-707 parked at a gate. lots of ideas for this landmark, all to enhance JFK and NYC. This building must be preserved!
