RAAF KC-30 tanker refuels F-35 for first time

An RAAF KC-30A tanker-transport has refuelled an F-35 Joint Strike Fighter for the first time. It has sucked the taxpayer teat for the longest. It ain't gonna hurt it to suck on the tanker. Sucking is one thing it is good at.

Like everything on that fighter, it looks like a difficult refuel position with the receptacle so far behind the cockpit. Read an interesting article from the perspective of the "boomer" on the refueling aircraft. Mentioned how difficult with was particularly with the F-16. Oh well, good profits to be made on change orders
