Air Force sees challenges on Boeing KC-46 tanker program
The U.S. Air Force said on Wednesday it still expects Boeing Co. to meet the August 2017 target for delivering 18 new KC-46A refueling planes, but a number of smaller schedule delays will reduce the program's margin for dealing with future issues. (www.stltoday.com) More...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
USAF is still pissed that Congress told them what to do and they don't know how to manage a contract that isn't cost plus.
That is why most General or Flag officers make very bad managers and worst politicians
Just a bunch of stuffed shirt Generals that think they are some kind of aviation experts when in reality they are only fit to fly their desks in the Pentagon!
The first 90% of the project takes the first 90% of the resources.
The rest of the project takes the other 90% of the resources.

Come on folks,,,,we know it will not cost Boeing anywhere near $5.1B to develop this plane. It is simply a newer version of existing 767....Yes, it will have many new components, etc, but no need to milk the govt out of 5.1B. Boeing (along with others) has been gouging the govt for years. Also, the 767 is an old plane too...777 and 787 newer and more modern.
If I could get a defense contract, I would ! :)
Profiteering in military contracts in this country goes back to 1776. Do you propose a solution?
