This aircraft is fantastic (I guess the biggest mono engine in the world) it's a real tractor!! anywhere, anyway, anyhow... exciting to fly... if you are not in a hurry..
By the way nice picture Zoltan

The An-2 has no stall speed! The handbook reads: "If the engine quits in instrument conditions or at night, the pilot should pull the control column full aft and keep the wings level. The leading-edge slats will snap out at about 64 km/h (40 mph) and when the airplane slows to a forward speed of about 40 km/h (25 mph), the airplane will sink at about a parachute descent rate until the aircraft hits the ground

Collin Seftel: thank you!
Your description of the engine failure procedure is icing on the cake for the above, incredible aircraft and us viewers.
Fascinating!

One of my all-time favorite airplanes. Looks like it was built by a blacksmith on a three-day weekend. But, g-o-l-l-y, what a great plane. Never flown in one, but did a walk-through at an airshow on Biggs Field, El Paso, TX back in 1995. Just as rugged on the inside as it is on the outside.

Absolutely no nonsense with an AN-2. Fine example of 'form following function.' Beautiful pic!

I worked/lived in Baghdad as a civilian contractor 2005-2010 and recall seeing these on several occasions performing aerial application missions in attempt to save/revive the date palm crops there. Loved the sound.

Great engineering; similar to the US Kelly Johnson at the Lockeed Shunk Works in Burbank, CA

Kudos to all participants
