Douglas DC-6 (N7780B)
Comments
Previously owned and presumably flown by Howard Hughes, hence the "Aviator" logo on the nose.
This was the historic airplane that HH tricked Douglas into selling to him after D Douglas forbade his salesmen from ever selling Hughs any Douglas product. Hughes then permanently parked his factory-new DC-6 within view of D Douglas's office - so to let it rot while thumbing his nose at him.
