Lockheed F-16 Fighting Falcon (90-0778) - On December 27, 1992 Capt. Gary “Nordo” North was flying as part of Operation Southern Watch, policing the airspace south of the 33rd parallel in this F-16D. That day Capt. North would make history when he downed an Iraqi MiG-25 Foxbat using an AIM-120 AMRAAM. It was both the 1st kill using the AIM-120 and the 1st kill the F-16 scored in USAF service. Now this jet wears this spectacular desert camouflage as a tribute to that historic day.
