British Aerospace BAe-146-300 (N612AW)
Comments
Its a nice looking craft, but 4 engines is kinda odd for a small regional carrier. The CRJ 200, 700, and 900 got better range with 2. After the recent crash involving this craft, I honestly don't believe its safe as stated.
Now, hang on a minute there Joe, that aircraft near Medellin just plain ran out of fuel! The Queen of England flies in her own Bae 146, so that has to count for a lot. The CRJ series need a longer runway length than a 146, but they cruise at a faster true airspeed. A case of horses for different courses...
The 18 Bae 146 Air Wisconsin operated had a good safety record. They were driven away by way of airline politics and economics.
