Boeing 727-100 — - "Two Bears" approaches RWY 25 at the conclusion of its final flight. FedEx Express has donated this bird to the University of Alaska-Anchorage Aviation Technology Maintenance Program, located on the field. All FedEx jets are christened with the name of a Fed Ex employees child. The father of Two Bears (now an adult child) is a longtime FedEx aviation maintenance employee based at ANC. PAMR is a general aviation airport in downtown Anchorage, and rwy 25 is only 4,000 x 100! After 2 planned low fly-bys (practice approaches), the crew planted it on the numbers and rolled out with lots of runway to spare! A condition of the donation is that the aircraft will never fly again.
