She flew over my house in Costa Mesa many times. I"ve walked through that very aircraft. It's miraculous that people got out. I'm dumbfounded how the guys could bail out in WWII when a 17 was in a spin. Vaya con dios.

What a sad day for Aviation history My condolences to those families who lost loved ones, best wishes to those who survived-i hope you all fly again.
I was fortunate t o fly on the "17" out of Hyannis , Mass for an hour in 2012, and will not hesitate to go up again in a vintage bird.
