Boeing MD-11 (PH-MCU) - News published in a local newspaper in Tenerife A plane chartered by the airline Martinair Cargo, which originated in the Netherlands, had to return to Tenerife South (Reina Sofia) airport after an explosion at one of its three engines Despite the severity of the event, the captain of the aircraft had no trouble controlling it, favored by the small aerodrome traffic at that hour, could take land without problems. Specifically, the plane is a Boeing MD-11F and carrying in its hold several horses whose fate was an international event although the location has not transpired. It is unknown whether the damage caused by the explosion have been repaired during yesterday or the aircraft will have to wait to fly again.
