https://www.flyingbulls.at/en/fleet/douglas-dc-6b I do wish posters would provide information about the aircraft they have photographed. A brief description is all that is required - thank you.
Sweetness in flight! Great shot. Thx for posting!
In my opinion this is a DC6.
Great Shot with the Fall Colors Christoph !!
Something wrong with it, it ain't leaking any oil.
The registration says it's a DC 6B
Power plant 4x Pratt & Whitney R 2800 CB-3. Power 2.400 HP each.
Beautiful plane, excellent shot. Congrats, Red Bull and Christoph Plank !!
I was three and a half years old on 18 February 1954 when I first flew from Lisbon to NY Idlewild, on a PanAm DC-6B with a stopover in the Azores. Pictures like these trigger vague memories of watching all the smoke and backfires of the double wasps on startup. Oh those amazing flying machines...
Wassa-matter Rex, you no see the black on the bottom of the Nacells?
Flew on a DC-6B from San Diego to Orlando in the early 50's. It was more like a bus ride; multiple stops in Yuma, El Paso, Houston, New Orleans, and Jacksonville, with foot-long tickets, but as an 8-year-old kid I thought it was pretty exciting.
